Process: For this project we were assigned a system of the body to research represent in a model and present. Me and my group were given the circulatory system.
1. We started out by making a google doc on which me and my group compiled several youtube videos and project ideas.
2. We found our original idea of a gatorade bottle representing the heart going into two cups representing cells which was later discarded for simplicity.
3. We found a new project which we adopted from last years circulatory group and modified for originality.
4. We began building our project.
5. We ran into some troubles with leaks which we solved by using duct tape and cups underneath to hold water.
6. Added another function showing oxygenated and non oxygenated blood using hot and cold water to show it.
7. Colaborated with respiratory group to show another function which was filtration of blood.
8. Made presentations for both projects.
Model: The model me and my group made was meant to simulate the blood pumping from the heart to the body and lungs. We showed this by taking three cups one showing the heart and the other two showing the lungs and body which had tubes connecting to each other and pumps in the body and lungs cup which pumped water to the heart and back out to themselves. We labeled each tube with what it was either a vein or and artery and whether it was oxygenated or not. We then put it on top of a drawn picture of the body for visual aid and put either an ice pack or a water heater in cups to show oxygenated and non oxygenated blood.
